The Forest Dark World

Here is the next video in my Super Meat Boy playthrough. In it, I get an A+ on all the levels in the dark world of The Forest chapter.

The dark world contains more difficult versions of the levels in the light world. You unlock each level by getting an A+ in the light world version of the level.

The achievement for completing all of these levels without dying is the Squirrel Boy achievement. I was able to get the Wood Boy achievement in the light world but still don’t feel confident enough to try for the Squirrel Boy one yet. You will see in this video that I need to practice before I can get it.

The Forest Light World Bandages

In this video, I continue my Super Meat Boy playthrough. I get the 7 bandages from the levels in the Light World of the Forest Chapter. This does not include the bandages in the warp zones.

Most of these bandages are fairly easy but there is one that normally gives me a lot of trouble.

Altamont Bandage

This is level 18, Altamont. I HATE bandages that are hanging out in the middle of nowhere. It almost always takes me 10 or more tries to get this one.

Of course, after saying all that, I was able to get it on the first try in this video. I’m pretty sure it is the only time I have been that lucky. But that’s Super Meat Boy for you.

Super Meat Boy – Wood Boy Achievement

Super Meat Boy–Wood Boy Achievement

This is the first video in my Super Meat Boy playthrough. In it, I am going for the the Wood Boy achievement. This achievement is for completing all the levels in the Forest chapter (chapter 1) without dying.

Each chapter has 2 achievements that require you to complete all the levels without dying. There is one for the light world and another for the dark world. You don’t have to complete the levels in order but you have to start over if you die.

I never thought I would be able to get any of these achievements. I didn’t think I would have the desire to put in the amount of time I thought was necessary. So I resigned myself to missing out on them.

I recently wiped and reloaded my gaming PC. I didn’t do a very good job of backing things up and lost my SMB save. I was working on the dark world of chapter 4 and had played for 24 hours according to Steam. Shoot me in the face!

So I started working my way back. As I did, I noticed something. I’m actually pretty good at this game now! Not good enough to get those achievements on all or even most of the chapters but maybe good enough to get it on the Forest.

This video is my run at that achievement. I will go ahead and apologize for the sound. The mic I was using wasn’t very good. I’ve borrowed a better one since so the rest of the videos are better.
